Are you looking for a fun and unique gift for a special beer lover? I was looking for a gift for my husband over the holiday season and one thing led to another. And the result? A million wooden bartender bottle openers of course.
I do most of my shopping online and I found some pretty terrific beer lover’s gifts, which I created a round-up for.
But the strangest thing came out of the whole gift giving and beer drinking connection:
First, a little background information; one - my husband is an amazing woodworker and two - he always makes Christmas gifts for his brothers.
Oh, and one more thing; most of my brothers-in-law like beer. It just happened that this year he made them three gifts. A wooden spatula, a spoon and a bartender bottle opener. Or as they like to call it a beer opener, which was the big hit this year.
I was so impressed with the bottle openers that I asked my husband to make some to sell in my shop. I thought they would be a perfect gift for Father’s Day, Birthday’s, Valentine’s Day and Christmas. They are hand-crafted, so no two are alike and he makes them out of both domestic and exotic hardwoods. Now that I think of it, they would also make a perfect housewarming or hostess gifts too.

I just love the designs that he’s coming up with by mixing and matching woods to make unique patterns and styles. He's having a great time naming these bartender bottle openers too.
Like this Scotch Ale wooden bottle opener that I listed here.
I'll be adding more over the next few months so you can find all his unique designs here.
Now I’m not saying this gift is right for all beer connoisseurs, but I know a lot who would love receiving one with a six-pack of their favorite beverage and a fancy new beer glass. Maybe they can even learn a few bar blade tricks to impress their friends.
Bartender Bottle Opener Tricks
A bartender bottle opener or bar blade is usually constructed from a thin piece of metal that has a bottle opener at one end and a 'spinner ring' thumb hole at the other. This hole is used for flair tricks, and pulling bottles out of ice by the neck. You can also use it to hang the opener.
If you want to learn these tricks, you'll need the plain bar blade. Unfortunately the thickness of the wood prevents the ability to perform many of the tricks. You can of still “spin” the opener like a pro.
How to Build the Perfect Six-pack of Beer
Many grocery stores like Busch’s, Kroger and Whole Foods are participating in the current mix-and-match six-pack trend. This means it’s never been easier to pick-out and pick-up the best beer gifts. Whenever my husband is looking to try something new, he heads on over to our local Busch’s and talks to the beverage manager Jim, who always knows about the newest arrivals.
